Welcome to Troop 410
Troop 410 is a troop whose goal is to help young men learn leadership skills while participating in and enjoying outdoor activities and community projects. Scouts camp, hike, canoe, bike, ski and enjoy many other challenging adventures in the outdoors. More importantly the boys are taught character, citizenship and leadership. Troop 410 is comprised of many adults with diverse backgrounds. You are welcome to visit any troop meeting and most camp outs. We are in Charles County, Maryland in the Zekiah District of the National Area Capital Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Troop 410 was first chartered as Troop 415 in 1970. In 1998 the Troop changed sponsorship and became Troop 410 sponsored by the White Plains Baptist Church. With over 30 years of Scouting in Charles County, Maryland, Troop 410 currently has over 70 youth and 35 adult members chartered, making troop 410 the largest Troop in the Zekiah District.

Troop History
Troop410 was first chartered as Troop 415 at St. Josephs Catholic Church in Pomfret, Maryland. The troop was chartered in 1969 under Father Brady, now Monsignor Brady.

Troop 415's first Scoutmaster was Ron Hilliard and the first scout in Troop 415 was James Hilliard.

From 1969 until 1988 the Scoutmasters were Ron Hilliard, Claude Manley, Bob Gignilliat, Robert Wood and Joe Hebb. (Still researching to ensure that all Scoutmasters were listed as well as to determine dates of service). Bob Gignilliat was Scoutmaster from 1980 - 1988. Robert Wood was Scoutmaster for about 3-4 months in 1987 before he was killed in a car accident. Bob Gignilliat came back to the troop after Robert was killed until Joe Hebb took over in 1988. Bob was affiliated with the troop for 18 years as Scoutmaster and then as Chaplin and Institutional Representative until 1998. During Bob's stint as Scoutmaster Troop 415 grew from 8 Scouts to a high of about 55 Scouts.

In 1989 Joe Hebb stepped down and Richard Hanson became the Scoutmaster until a permanent Scoutmaster was found. Shortly thereafter, Charlie Keefer became the next Scoutmaster of Troop 415. In 1991 Charlie Keefer stepped down and Lee Bramell became the Scoutmaster of Troop 415 until 1998 when Troop 415 changed sponsors and became Troop 410, sponsored by the White Plains Baptist Church. Lee Bramell became the first Scoutmaster of Troop 410 and remained the Scoutmaster until 2002 when he resigned after almost 12 years of service to Troop 415/410 as the Scoutmaster, graduating over 30 Eagle Scouts.

Michael Hunt, an Eagle Scout of Troop 415 served as Scoutmaster for the troop from 2002 until 2010, graduating 16 Eagle Scouts. In 2005, Troop 410's Charter renewal saw over 90 boys and 40 adult leaders. Mitch Mills was Scoutmaster from 2010 - 2011. John Groat became Scoutmaster in 2012 and is our current Scoutmaster.

Several scouts of Troop 415 have came back as leaders of the Troop. Mr. Brian Moore was a member of Troop 415 in the late 70's. Mr. Ken Ashby a member of Troop 415 in the late 80's.
